Although it’s been very warm here lately, we’ve started to think about our options for a Fall coat. The Twinkle by Wenlan Movie Starlet coat is set to arrive at the beginning of October. It reminds us of the old Hollywood movies we watched as young adults at The Stanford Theatre in Palo Alto. Wow, and what a coincidence, they’re showing The Birds tonight — this coat would fit right into Melanie Daniels’ wardrobe!

Dressing for Summer weather
As the weather gets warmer, we sometimes feel our selection in warm-weather clothing is limited. We suggest keeping your outfits simple and elegant like Sienna Miller above wearing a Yoana Baraschi sundress while on the streets. At the store our current favorites are the Wren Navy Shorts with the Wren Inkblot Tee. We also heart the Twinkle Ariel Tank with skinny jeans. Ladies, for the season, the more distressed the better; and while we’re on denim, the lighter the wash, the better as well!
For footwear try flat sandals or ballet flats. Wedge sandals also go very well with summer attire. Wedges in tan leather and a statement bag can finish the outfit.
Linen trousers or a great tulip skirt with a summer blouse make up a work-appropriate outfit. If you’d like to be more creative, a sweet sundress with a cotton cardigan will also keep you cool in the office. To keep looking neat, avoid shorts and tennies and cotton shelf-bra tank tops worn by themselves. We hope you enjoy the weather and have a wonderful week!

3 spring clothing essentials
If you’re like us, you probably have a budget in mind when buying clothes for a new season. Spring clothes are arriving and there will be a lot of choices. We have a few suggestions for you to freshen up your wardrobe. If you’re spending money on clothes, make sure they’re pieces that will carry you throughout Spring and Summer. You’d be surprised at how certain pieces can update your current collection of clothing from past seasons.
- Buy 1 new pair of jeans. Whether they are skinny or straight leg, bootcut or trouser style, a new pair of jeans can change the look of your current t-shirts and blouses. We suggest our Found Symone and Agatha jeans. Do you have an old graphic tee that you still love to wear? Crazy for Mad Men
Since hearing Matthew Weiner, creator and producer of the television series Mad Men, on NPR’s Fresh Air last summer we’ve been hooked and eagerly awaiting the third season. Mad Men follows the lives of highly competitive men and women on Madison Avenue in New York during the early 1960′s. The story is intriguing, complicated, and at times amusing. We were dedicated viewers after Episode 1. In the show, the men, women and families lived a much more sophisticated and elegant life. Women dressed up and men wore suits.
Mad Men has not only influenced home and office interiors with authentic Mid-Century Modern furniture and housewares, but it has also influenced the revival of the hourglass shape. Paul & Joe Sister Spring: in-store now!
Hope everyone’s weekend is going well. We just wanted to share our new Paul & Joe Sister Spring clothes with you. From left to right: navy paris trench, phoenix print gwen blouse, and beige zeph sweater. The paris trench is fully lined and would look great with the gwen blouse, jeans and flats. Twinkle short-sleeve shawl cardigan
