We’ve been getting ready for our spring deliveries here at Josef. Among our shipments arriving soon is one from Yoana Baraschi. We’ll be getting in a cute little mix of spring dresses – two are pictured above. The one on the left is the Origami Ruffle Zip Dress in Ink, and the one on the right is the Fairie Garden Shirt Dress in Ebony.
Yoana worked as creative director for Betsy Johnson in the late 1990′s and early 2000′s. After that, she started her own collection and has become wildly successful. You may have seen her clothing on Project Runway host and executive producer, Heidi Klum, last season. If you’re as excited as we are, check back early next month for these darling dresses on our online store.

Twinkle LBD on sale!
This post is for all you Twinkle fans. Just wanted to let you know that the Twinkle Slow Turn dress is on sale now at 40% off. I managed to get the back of the dress in the reflection of the mirror, however, if you want to see it in more detail, click here. You can wear this dress year round – it’s very Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. As my friend from high school recently told me, if you get a dress you love now, an occasion will present itself.

Spring’s a comin’
I hope all is well. Today is a big news day. I was glued to the TV this morning and then on my way into work I listened to NPR the entire commute. We have some news of our own here at Josef. We’re excited to announce that our second newly added designer for Spring is Steven Alan. In case you are unfamiliar with his collection, he is known for his slightly rumpled button down shirts, and has described the aesthetic of his clothing as having a “certain schoolboy sloppy look”. Since the mid 1990′s, he has evolved his line creating sleek pieces for women, but staying true to his relaxed roots. We’ll be getting in tops and dresses made from cotton and other summery natural fabrics. Keep checking back!

From cold to hot
Did you get sick this past week? It must have been the weather. There was a sudden change of weather here in the Bay Area. It went from winter cold to spring warm. It’s been quite pleasant, however, everyone around here’s been sick. At the local grocery store the cold & flu medicine aisle was jam packed.
It’s not all bad. We changed our window to feature our resort clothes. We displayed a beautiful paisley print silk sundress from Paul & Joe Sister that has shades of mint greens and baby blues, and we also put out the mint green Grey Ant tinsel mini dress. Let’s hope this gorgeous weather lasts!

Paul & Joe Sister Forest Animal Dress
This Paul & Joe Sister dress is one of my favorites in the shop. It’s on sale ($125)! The picture on the left shows how I’d wear it with my biker jacket and black ankle boots, of course, with black tights. The detailed shot shows a little embroidered panda and squirrel, as well as the jacquard fabric. Too cute, but toughened up by the leather elements I added. To round out the outfit I’d wear a knit beret to stay warm.

What to wear when the clock strikes 12
New Year’s planning must already be in full swing. Do you know what you’re wearing to welcome in the new year? How about a LBD from Twinkle by Wenlan ($295). This little number has a handful of details that’ll make you stand out in the sea of LBD’s. With two front pleated pockets and a slight scoop back, you’ll be sure to turn heads as you walk by. To heighten the festive feeling, wear it with colored tights and grey ankle boots like the picture above. Say goodbye to 2008 in style!

Twinkle by Wenlan pre-spring 09 at Josef
Twinkle’s gator blouse along with 3 other items arrived yesterday. It’s made of 100% silk and has a multi-color alligator print all over. It has a deep v-neck and hits well below the hip ($260). The blouse looks great with dark denim and black. Wenlan Chia also carried the alligator motif in her Twinkle Living line.
Now that’s living a coordinated lifestyle. Enjoy your afternoon.

Josef photo shoot
We’ve been busy here at Josef. This weekend I styled our photo shoot for the site. It was hours long, but we were happy with the results. We set up a studio in the shop and it took up about 85% of the space. I learned a lot during the process. If you ever find yourself having to take pictures of clothing, here are a few things to have handy: double-sided tape, binder clips, a lint brush, sewing pins, and scissors.
Now that the photos are taken, I can focus on Christmas shopping. Only 10 days left!
